Whiter Teeth For The Holidays: Dentist.Nets Pre Holiday Sale Going On Now

Irvine, Calif. (PRWEB) November 2, 2006

Dentist.net (http://www.dentist.net) is now holding a pre-holiday sale and offering customers a free gift with purchase on all orders over $ 50. Our low price guarantee ensures that customers get what they need to maintain a health smile without breaking the bank. With newly lowered prices all over the store, customers will find quality products at prices that cant be beat. Dentist.net also announces new markdowns on products such as the professional strength Crest Whitestrips Supreme and the Sonicare IntelliClean i8300 electric toothbrush.

Todays markets carry a wide variety of manual and powered toothbrushes in addition to toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, interdental cleaners, oral irrigators, and more. With so many products available, determining which product is best can be confusing. One rule to remember is that cheaper does not equal better.

Consulting with a dentist or dental hygienist for a recommendation is a good place to start. Some dentists and dental hygienist tend to favor a particular brand or type of product and can offer opinions. The following topics can turn a smile into a brighter, whiter place.

Toothbrushes: In choosing a manual toothbrush, soft and extra soft bristles are gentler with a compact size head. Soft and extra soft bristles are less abrasive on both the enamel and gums while the compact head makes the back teeth more accessible. The handle should also be comfortable to grip and hold. Dentist.net recommends the Dr Collins Perio Toothbrush, Colgate Sensitive Compact Toothbrush and Sensodyne Extra Soft Compact. People with impaired motor skills or arthritis may find powered toothbrushes helpful. Dentist.nets most popular powered toothbrush is the Sonicare Elite series and Oral B ProfessionalCare which include various speed settings and different types of replacement brush heads. Toothbrushes and brush heads should be replaced every three to four months for hygienic purposes and to ensure proper cleaning. Bristles that are frayed can not clean teeth effectively and can irritate gums.

Toothpaste: Today there is a wide assortment of toothpaste available. From all natural to fluoride free, toothpastes come in flavors ranging from the traditional mint to bubble gum and mango. There are also many specialty toothpaste that are made to whiten teeth, treat sensitivity, or improve gum health. Dentist.net recommends the new generation of remineralizing toothpaste such as Novamins Oravive. A remineralizing toothpaste helps to rebuild the tooths enamel for stronger, healthier teeth while fighting plaque and tooth sensitivity.

Dental Floss: Because a toothbrush can not reach into all the places that plaque and food debris collect, dental floss is essential in maintaining a healthy mouth. Dental floss is used to reach between the teeth and gumline where the toothbrush misses. Like toothpaste, dental floss is now available in many different brands but essentially there are two different types: waxed and unwaxed. Although both are effective, waxed dental floss is often easier for people to slip between teeth that are tightly spaced. Floss aids and holders are also available to help make flossing easier. Dentist.net recommends the Dr. Collins Dental Work Waxed Floss. This shred resistant floss is strong enough to use with a floss holder and leaves a clean minty taste.

Interdental Cleaners: An alternative method of cleaning between teeth is with an interdental cleaner. Interdental cleaners are made in a variety of sizes to accommodate people with different size spaces between their teeth. These products range from picks to sticks and can be easier to handle than floss. Check with a dentist for proper use of these instruments to avoid injuring gums.

Oral Irrigators: These units direct a stream of water to remove plaque and food particles from around or between the teeth. Oral irrigators are useful for cleaning heard to reach areas and can be helpful to those with periodontal (gum) disease, braces or bridgework. Oral irrigators are also used to help reduce gingivitis. Dentist.net recommends the Hydrofloss and the new WP-100 by Waterpik. With its 10 pressure settings and eight different tip attachments, it is versatile enough for anyone to use.

Mouthrinses: Mouthwashes are often used to mask mouth odor and freshen breath; however they are also effective in preventing tooth decay and gum disease. Look for a mouthwash that is alcohol free and anti-plaque or anti-gingivitis to aid in maintaining oral care while keeping breath fresh. Some mouthrinses are available that are specifically formulated to attack bad breath. Dentist.net recommends Profresh, BreathRx and Therabreath.

VetDepot Encourages Healthy Smiles During Pet Dental Health Month

Encinitas, CA (PRWEB) January 30, 2012

It is estimated that more than 85% of dogs and cats ages 4 years and older suffer from some degree of periodontal disease. This staggering statistic has led the American Veterinary Association to declare February as National Pet Dental Health Month to raise awareness of the risks associated with dental disease in dogs and cats. VetDepot is proud to support Pet Dental Health Month and good dental care all year long by offering a wide range of dental products for pets at discount prices- making proper dental care both affordable and convenient!

Periodontal disease in pets can cause loose teeth, gum bleeding, mouth odor, pain and can even lead to infections that can harm the lungs, heart, kidneys or liver. A home dental care regimen for pets in combination with veterinary advice is crucial in making sure your beloved pet doesnt become a dental disease statistic. Despite the dangerous consequences of not providing adequate pet dental care, the American Pet Products Association reports that only 26% of dog owners have purchased a dental care product in the past year.

For those pet owners that dont know where to begin with dental care for their pets, VetDepot has compiled a list of good oral hygiene basics:

Only use toothpaste that is formulated for pets! Human toothpastes arent meant to be swallowed. Toothpaste for dogs and cats often comes in pet friendly flavors to make the task easier for everyone involved.

Establish a dental care routine. Your pet may not be a fan of the toothbrush the first time hes exposed to it. However, if Fido realizes that his teeth are going to be brushed every night with a treat and plenty of love to follow, he will likely settle into a routine and stop putting up so much of a struggle.

Consider a Dental Treat. Although treats and chews dont replace the need for brushing, they are an easy way to supplement your pets good oral hygiene regimen. Greenies and CET Chews for dogs and cats are two great choices that many VetDepot customers have come to rely on.

Dont Skip Vet Checkups. Your veterinarian will examine your pets teeth and gums for anything of concern and will make recommendations about homecare. If dental disease has already progressed, your vet may recommend extractions or other treatment based on your pets individual case.

VetDepot offers the very same pet meds available from your local veterinarian with savings of up to 60%. VetDepot lets consumers save both time and money on all their pet supply needs. All VetDepot products are backed by their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. VetDepot is LegitScript certified, has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and is committed to low everyday prices and excellent customer service. Check out their website at http://www.vetdepot.com or call their toll free customer service line at 866-456-0400. Give your pet the BEST!

Spring Clean Your Teeth To Avoid Gum Disease

(PRWEB) March 7, 2011

Spring cleaning is not just for houses it is also a great ethos to adopt when it comes to avoiding gum disease, advise dental health experts.

Traditionally, spring cleaning has meant thoroughly clearing your house of dust and cobwebs in preparation for the months ahead.

And more recently it has become a metaphor for decluttering and reorganising everything to make our lives run more smoothly.

So spring is a great time to tackle the hidden oral hygiene problems that could be undermining your bodys overall health, advise the experts from toothpaste and mouthwash manufacturers Eludril and Elgydium.

Consistently good oral health is vitally important because gum disease can be an early warning sign of health problems elsewhere in the body.

Many health conditions have been linked to gum disease, advise the experts from Eludril and Elgydium.

For example, those with gum disease are almost twice as likely to suffer from coronary artery disease as those without gum disease.

People with diabetes seem to suffer more from gum disease and this makes it very difficult for them to control their blood sugar levels.

Pregnant women with gum disease may be seven times more likely to have a baby that is born too early and too small.

And a link has even been suggested between the incidence of gum disease and breast cancer.

Eludril and Elgydium experts recommend the following approach to spring cleaning our mouths:

Listerine Whitening – Teeth Bleaching Product Reviews

Listerine whitening products cover a variety of different angles for tooth whitening. This review is for Listerine’s Dissolving Strips, Whitening Pen, and Whitening Pre-Brush Mouthwash. We first cover the basic information on each product and then provide our own detailed analysis and rating based on its strengths and weaknesses.

1. Review of Listerine Quick Dissolving Strips

If you have never heard of tooth whitening strips before it is because they are a relatively new innovation in tooth bleaching products. It has been just over 10 years since the first teeth whitener strips were introduced. Since that time, whitener strips have matured and are now considered a powerful, safe, and effective do-it-yourself tooth bleaching method.

Listerine whitening strips have several distinct advantages over competitors.

First, these strips dissolve in the mouth completely, leaving no plastic liner to remove after use like conventional whitener strips do. This makes them more convenient, particularly for busy schedules. Likewise, they are far more flexible than conventional plastic bleaching strips, making it easy to speak normally as your teeth are being whitened. They also double as a breath freshener by killing bad breath germs.

Our Analysis of Listerine Quick Dissolving Strips

These strips are indeed more convenient than conventional plastic strips. Application usually takes 10-15 seconds but can be tricky at first as the strip will stick to anything moist it comes in contact with, including your lip.

It takes 5-10 minutes for the strip to dissolve in your mouth but this time does not really matter because you can do anything you would normally be doing, except eating or drinking. Everyone varies but generally after one week of consistent use you should notice a hint of whiter teeth and after two weeks it should definitely be noticeable.

In conclusion we give Listerine Quick Dissolving Strips a full 5/5 as an excellent 10 second apply-and-forget tooth whitener and breath freshener aimed at the modern busy lifestyle.

2. Review of Listerine Whitening Pen

The whitening pen is another innovative tooth bleaching product from Listerine. This teeth bleaching pen is small, portable, easy-to-use, and ideal for targeted whitening in hard-to-reach places like the gum line. As with the whitening strips, this pen is safe on teeth and enamel and also kills germs that cause bad breath. According to Listerine, using 1-3 quick applications a day, results should be noticeable after 2 weeks but in fact, many customers reported far quicker results.

Our Analysis of Listerine Whitening Pen

This pen is very similar to the Listerine whitening strips reviewed above. Both use the same whitening formula so we suspect that using both products simultaneously would be somewhat redundant (though you could alternate their use). That said, there are some substantial differences. The whitening pen is much more targeted than strips and is therefore well suited to dealing with specific stains and stain-areas (such as from smoking, coffee, tea, sodas, or certain pharmaceuticals). Though the pen says it can take up to two weeks to notice any effect, some customers reported significant improvements in just 3 days of use. On average, with constant use, we would estimate each pen lasts around 1 month (though this is highly dependent on how you use it).

In conclusion, Listerine Whitening Pen gets a 4/5 and proves itself as another solidly effective at-home or on-the-go supplementary (or possibly primary) tooth whitener from Listerine.

3. Review of Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse

Listerine Pre-Brush Rinse is different from other mouthwashes because, like the title says, it is intended for use before brushing your teeth. This clean-mint flavored Listerine mouthwash fights stains, whitens teeth, and kills germs that cause bad breath.

Our Analysis on Listerine Pre-Brush Rinse

First off, remember this is pre-brush mouthwash, meaning you use it before you brush your teeth. This means that after brushing you can still use your standard mouthwash for additional effect. As far as teeth whitener mouth rinses go, Listerine Pre-Brush Rinse is one of the best and the only pre-brush rinse we know of on the market.

However, if you are serious about whiter teeth, mouth rinses in general are not the heavy hitters here. They can and do work well but it will take considerably longer to notice the same effect compared to, for example, Listerine bleaching strips. This does not mean you should immediately forget about a whitener rinse. Rather, we recommend Listerine pre-brush rinse as a complement to more powerful, primary tooth whitening solution(s).

In conclusion, this Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse gets a solid 4.5/5 as one of the best tooth whitener mouthwashes. The last half point is subtracted only because mouthwashes in general are best as a supplement to a more comprehensive tooth bleaching strategy and should not be solely relied on for serious whitening. That said, we still fully recommend Listerine Whitening Pre-Brush Rinse.

Dr. Ang says the beginning of each year is always a busy time for cosmetic procedures such as teeth whitening in Toronto, which she typically attributes to New Years resolutions and the desire to start the year off on the right foot. However, she says Valentines day presents another great opportunity to help patients connect with their significant others and brighten their smiles. According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, virtually all Americans (99.7%) believe a smile is an important social asset and 96% of adults believe an attractive smile makes a person more appealing. Since teeth whitening is the simplest and safest smile enhancement procedure, I simply want to make it easier for patients to achieve a bright white smile.

Whether patients simply want to enhance their aesthetic appearance or increase overall confidence, Dr. Ang says the teeth whitening systems available at her practice can help. The color of teeth and the sparkle of a smile are what most people consider attractive attributes. Patients who have had smile enhancement procedures typically smile more, conveying happiness and confidence with their appearance.

Xylitol Sugar Products from Xlear Delivers Method to Whiten Teeth

Orem, UT (PRWEB) January 11, 2012

Xlear, Inc. today introduced a new teeth-whitening kit designed using xylitol sugar a natural sweetener with proven oral care benefits. This kit, named Spry White, uses Perogel and patented VIOCIN Whitening Technology as part of a two-stage process to make teeth whiter in just about one hour. Spry White contains the natural sweetener xylitol and whitens teeth effectively by using a formula containing a safer concentration of whitening agents. In particular, the Perogel and VIOCIN in this new whitening kit contain good amounts of xylitol sugar which help to increase calcium absorption and decrease tooth sensitivity.

“We realize there are several whitening options available on the market, but Spry White is the only natural teeth whitening formula available today,” said Blaine Yates, president of Xlear, Inc. “We have combined natural xylitol sugar and dental technologies to provide people with a healthier whitening formula that delivers brighter smiles and greater oral health.”

The Spry White kit uses a two-step process that first involves Perogel to remove particles imbedded in teeth enamel that cause discoloration. Then the second step, VIOCIN is used to enhance whitening while infusing calcium into the enamel to reduce sensitivity and strengthen teeth. VIOCIN uses light spectrum technology with violet gel to reinforce the whitening effects of Perogel. This two-step process containing xylitol sugar also decreases the likelihood that users will need any bleach for additional whitening.

The Spry Dental Defense System is a family of products that includes xylitol toothpaste, rinse, tooth gel, sponge floss, oral mist and a variety of xylitol chewing gums and mints. Each xylitol product is formulated to deliver a healthy dose of xylitol sugar. Adults who use xylitol have been shown to benefit from a greater oral health.

Spry White can be purchased online at Xlear.com or at one of thousands or health food retailers nationwide for only $ 39.95. To find a Xlear dealer near you, use the online store locator now.

ABOUT XLEAR, Inc.

Founded in 2000, Xlear, Inc. (pronounced “clear”) is recognized as one of the leading manufacturers of xylitol products, and one of the largest importers of xylitol in the United States. How Can Parents Look After Kids Teeth? eBooks Will Send Kids To Their Graves With All Natural Teeth Perfect and White Says Doctor and Author

Campbell town, South Australia (PRWEB) February 07, 2012

With the release of his revised and retitled eBooks How Do I Look After My Kids Teeth Dr. Garth Pettit is confident of greatly reduced oral diseases in children, with more parents, teachers and schools opting to teach children how to go to their graves with all natural teeth, perfect and white.

Traditionally for many centuries and for many generations children have been instructed to Brush Your Teeth and given whatever, if ever, an oral health education based on that old, unworthy oral hygiene instruction Brush Your Teeth. Sadly this has resulted in the vast majority of people going to their graves with few of or none of the teeth they inherited as a child, says Dr Pettit. That rot can easily be stopped he says, those days are gone forever.

Currently, as an author, I live in an age blessed with the invaluable and numerous benefits of internet technology. This enables me as an author to create information products, have them published as eBooks and made available inexpensively to parents, teachers and schools throughout the world to use to teach kids oral hygiene and to give kids a simple but comprehensive oral health care education, with no lesson preparation time, that will keep kids orally healthy for life. Kids deserve that! said Dr. Pettit.

KDP Select eBooks are borrowable for Amazon Prime Members. To become a member simply click the link in any Amazon book details. Dr. Pettit can also make eBooks available for free in promotions. Please read details below for the current free promotions.

I am particularly excited about this because the two eBooks chosen for the free promotions are both relevant to oral hygiene instructions for children and precede the ten oral health care education lessons in the eBooks that follow them, said Dr. Pettit.

The revised, retitled 13 English Edition eBooks are:

How Do I Look After My Kids Teeth? 1 of 12 … 12 of 12
